The BOX-3, a gray bar cabinet from Studio Josha's Box-Series by Dutch designer Josha Roymans, is furniture with an eclectic double life: stacked, reclaimed volumes outside and storage for bottles and glassware inside, so opening it feels like a small event.
Every Box-Series piece is built from the studio's own waste stream: empty cardboard boxes from BOL.com, Amazon and other couriers, collected over years of deliveries. Josha stacks the discarded, ready-made volumes until they match his original sketch, and packaging becomes structure. The series doubles as a commentary on over-consumption and the half-empty boxes that ship air around the world.
Hand-gilded 24k gold leaf lines the interior, so opening the cabinet feels like a small event - reclaimed material carrying the warmest surface in the room.
Inside, it works as a proper bar with storage for bottles and glassware; a functional centrepiece for eclectic interiors. One of one - never to be made again.
