In Dialogue des Couleurs, Sophie Dumont explores the encounter between structure and chromatic vibration. The canvas, built like an inner architecture, juxtaposes rectangular planes where muted greens, luminous beiges, and warm ochres converse with more intense accents of blue and red.
At the center, a dark zone acts as a deep core, surrounded by lighter strata that bring a sense of breath and openness. Strong lines structure the space, while knife work introduces accidents, transparencies, and scratches that animate the surface and prevent rigidity.
Through this interplay of silence and intensity, mass and detail, the painting unfolds as a living tension: each color becomes a voice, each plane a fragment of conversation.
