Meet the Creator
Wescover creator since 2020
E M I L I E H E U R T E V E N T is a Melbourne-based abstract artist. Landscapes, classical elements and cycles of decay & renewal are Emilie’s recurring subjects. Like in nature, she believes changes are necessary, serving as an invitation to savour this precious life and a way to experience a sense of growth and purpose. Her work shows landscapes, movement, light and darkness. It is evocative of another place and time and questions what lies beyond our sight.

Emilie works with black and white paints, ochre, Chinese ink, and gloss. She consciously creates layers upon layers of marks, drips, and abrasions to show the imperfection of nature and how deconstruction and reconstruction are intrinsically linked. Ultimately, her purpose is to invite people to look at the world around them and discover the beauty in unusual places.
