"Crossing" is made to order, one the kind handwoven textile that explores movement, transition and the meeting of opposing forces. Soft undulating layers of natural fibers are interrupted by a dark diagonal passage, an intentional break that represents change, passage, and the moment of crossing from one state to another.
Woven with a tactile techniques- looping, knotting, and raised textures- this piece has sculptural quality that shifts with light and shadow. the natural palette of creams, sand and stone is grounded by black, deep charcoal and earthy tones creating a contrast while remaining organic and calming.
