Powder coated aluminum rack with steel rod and birch wood blocks. The rod is made of steel for added weight, eliminating any rattling noise. The diameter of the rod is big enough so it doesn't act as a toilet paper bearing! The friction created by the paint and the diameter is perfect to tear the paper with one hand! As both the rod and the structure are powder coated, there is no contact between the two materials.
The powder coating process is the lowest VOC paint, it's the lowest polluting of all coating.
The wood is sourced locally in the Quebec region, as we want to keep the maple for our sirup, and we love the variation in colors of birch. The wood blocks are pleasant to the touch, and easy to slide in the roll.
