A rare pair of early 20th-century Chinese gilt lacquered carved panels, presented together as a single illuminated wall sculpture — a striking focal point for an entryway, above a fireplace, or behind a sofa. The warm, adjustable glow brings out the depth of the hand-carved bird-and-flower motifs, turning a piece of architectural history into functional art.
These are surviving fragments from a traditional timber-framed structure, dating to circa 1920. Each panel retains its original black and deep crimson lacquer, with traces of hand-applied gold leaf — a surface shaped by a century of natural aging, impossible to replicate today.
Upgraded LED Lighting: The piece features a remote-controlled, adjustable LED light with three color temperatures and full dimming capability. Mounted on a solid wood backplate with a 2 cm floating gap, the piece is ready to hang with pre-installed hardware.
One-of-a-kind piece.
