This chair is a one of a kind functional sculpture, hand carved from solid hardwood. It is defined by its highly abstract and asymmetric backrest, which consists of interlocking carved blocks that create a bold, totemic silhouette. The piece represents a sophisticated exploration of negative space and monolithic weight, serving as both a ceremonial seat and a powerful work of art.
The entire form is treated with a deep ebonized finish, giving the wood a matte, charcoal black tone that unifies its complex, textured surfaces. This finish accentuates the rugged texture of the hand carving, highlighting every gouge and plane while allowing natural fissures and checking to remain visible. The seat surface proudly displays the original growth rings of the tree, providing a tactile and visual connection to the material's organic source.
Built for structural permanence, the chair is supported by sturdy legs from solid hardwood that maintain a sense of primitive, grounded stability. Its architectural profile and dramatic presence make it an ideal focal point for minimalist or industrial interiors that value raw craftsmanship and avant garde design.
Finished with natural oils and waxes to protect the wood and seal the deep black tone while preserving the dry, textured quality of the carved surface. Designed and made in Europe by Logniture, a studio dedicated to transforming raw timber into expressive, heirloom grade furniture.
