A Boolean data set was used in the composition of a sphere intersecting a cube. The vertical element supporting the two shapes represents a stem in the depiction of a flower in a pot as well as a symbolic connection in the relationship of mathematics and nature.

Born in 1966, from Arlington Heights, Illinois and now residing in Chicago, John E. Bannon is a multi-media visual artist and educator whose work is seen in public and private collections locally and abroad. An adjunct assistant professor for 12 years at the school of the art institute of Chicago, he now works full time out of his studio in the old town. He earned a BFA degree in painting in 1990 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-champaign and an MFA degree in a studio from the school of the art institute of Chicago in 2002.
