Anna Zimina – contemporary Russian artist, head of Smolensk department of National Artist's Union of Russia, lecturer of art and graphics at Smolensk State University. She began her career with photography, the visual traditions of which can be traced in her paintings. The basis of her painting is the study of the concept of autonomy on the example of constructing simplified symbolic spaces. The symbolism of space is manifested through the structures and forms that determine the relationship between the internal and external.
