After the Rain #2
Original abstract wood wall sculpture
72” W x 30” H x 1.5” D
After the Rain #2 is a richly layered abstract wood sculpture inspired by the quiet intensity and shifting color that follows a storm. Vertical rhythms of color and grain create movement across the surface, revealing new details as light changes throughout the day. This is a statement piece designed to anchor a space and invite closer inspection.
Each sculpture is meticulously handcrafted from individually cut pieces of wood, varying in length and depth to create a striking three-dimensional surface. The piece features 18 hand-applied painted colors balanced with 5 natural wood tones, allowing warmth and texture to coexist. A specialized painting technique is used so portions of the natural wood grain subtly show through the color, adding depth, nuance, and character that cannot be replicated.
This artwork is made to order and will closely resemble the piece shown, while remaining one of a kind. Before shipping, I will send progress photos for your approval to ensure the final piece meets your expectations.
Finished with two coats of low-VOC, water-based sealer, the surface is fully protected and requires no ongoing maintenance, making it suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
Photographs only hint at the detail and presence of this piece—its texture, depth, and complexity are best experienced in person.
