"Close to me" is a 10" electro-formed fine silver sculpture by Yenny Cocq.
Available in gloss or brushed silver finish.
The perfect silver or 25th anniversary gift! With Love and style to compliment your decor and show off your accomplishment of a quarter-century.
The figures can come with a black marble base. It is not necessary if you want them seated on a shelf. The marble bases can be purchased separately.
The sculptures are handmade with our partners (friends) in Taxco, Mexico. Taxco is famous for fine silver craftsmanship. I was honored to work with the wonderfully welcoming family of master craftsmen. It was quite a process and a lot of manual labor. The electro forming process was quite demanding. It is similar to plating, but it is heavily applied and much thicker. The process takes a very long time.
Similarly to bronze casting, a mold is taken from the master design. The resin that comes out of the mold is by any means finished. It needs to be totally flawless to apply the silver. Once the silver is applied, the figures are lacquered with an anti-tarnish coating.
