"Handmade textile "paintings" exploring the relationship between humans and nature"
In a world where nature is receding further and further from our everyday experience, the art work of Tracey Cameron fosters a visceral connection to the environment. A Canadian Maker, Designer and Artist, she creates fabric “paintings” and home goods in her Calgary, Alberta studio. Cameron earned a Bachelors in Design from the Alberta University of Arts and allows that graphic training to inform her work. She creates textile bird portraits, our closest link to “wildness”, to explore the relationship between humans and nature, touching on environmental protection, perception and utilitarian value.
