Louisville, Kentucky native Christina Renee is fast becoming one of the best and most unique fiber artist in the Louisville area. Her distinct style of sharp geometric lines and carefully balanced symmetry uniquely blends macrame, weaving, and a variety of textures and accent colors.
Christina Renee has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Humanities as well a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Louisville. She was an educator for several years until a disabling autoimmune disease called Axial Spondyloarthritis (aka Ankylosing Spondylitis) forced her to leave a very stressful education career behind and focus on a healthy lifestyle. For her, art is a way of healing and maintaining positive energy in her life, as well as hopefully bringing that positivity into other people’s lives and homes.
Christina Renee is currently wheelchair bound due to her disease, making completion of projects all the more challenging and impressive. She finds inspiration for her art in nature, in traveling, and in her daily health struggles.
