Roldan Lauzan Studio

Havana, Cuba

"Roldan is an oil painter who only makes unique pieces. Its main theme is to study the complexity of the human being through spectacular portraits that reveal contradictory feelings. These portraits are always feminine, colorful and expressionist."
San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. 1987
Roldán Lauzán is a young artist who made his name on the stage of Contemporary Cuban Art about five years ago. His work seeks to establish a dialogue between antagonists, inviting the viewer to consider and contemplate the idea of the duality of being. For this, he manipulates or subverts images from religious, spiritual and occult symbolism and iconography.
He graduated from the Eduardo Abela Fine Arts Academy (San Antonio de los Baños, 2006). Since then he has participated in about twenty group shows and has made two personal shows, the first was titled REDEMPTION (Portugal 2018) and the second SANCTORUM (Havana 2019)
His work has been shown at international art fairs in Spain, Germany, Austria and the United States.
