"Sculptural lighting inspired by nature — where light meets organic form."
Welcome to Niksa Design! I’m Sara Niknejad, founder and creative director of Niksa Design—a studio where architecture meets the poetry of natural materials to create one-of-a-kind sculptural lighting.
I’m very interested in organic transformation—the kind of change that sometimes happens gradually and naturally and sometimes as a result of pressure, time, or environmental conditions. A small crack in the wood or a curve that forms during drying can inspire a whole design. I don’t try to hide those things—I work with them and give them meaning through the design. Because of my background in architecture, I care deeply about structure and balance. But the kind of transformation I love goes beyond perfect lines — it’s about how things can shift, adapt, and come to life in new ways. Instead of breaking or being lost, they become something more pure and meaningful.
Each piece is handcrafted in Richmond Hill, Ontario, using reclaimed wood, handmade paper, and eco-friendly finishes. I invite you to explore my collection of sculptural lighting, where every crack, curve, and contour tells its own story of renewal and balance.
