Nicole Allen Sculpture

VIC, Australia

Nicole mainly works in mild steel, Cor 10 or stainless steel, and a mixture of all three. She begins her artistic process by creating a three-dimensional armature in steel, and then ‘panels’ the armature with smaller pieces of steel. She then grinds the ‘panels’ back, to create the required shape and finish. She then hand sand casts the sculpture, in either aluminum or bronze.

Having worked in stone in Zimbabwe for a year, Nicole still enjoys working in many types of stone. But these days, she tends to use stone in a way to compliment her steel sculpture.
