I'm a glass artist specializing in fused, slumped and kiln-cast glass. While working in the studio, my method is to use “pre-made design elements”. These design elements may include intricate twisted canes, geometric murrini or pattern bars, precious gold or silver, and flame-worked twists and threads made in a torch. I also use screen printing to make images on the glass. When composing a new piece these design elements are combined to create my signature look. I find the “cross-over” between glass, ceramics and other studio techniques to be fertile ground for exploration, and the potential for further development is great. As a designer that's what keeps me going! Trained in Industrial Design and as a ceramic artist, I have been active in the Seattle art and design community for over 25 years. I welcome commissions and design projects large an small, and have completed several public art projects.
