California-based artist Lindsey Millikan is a contemporary realist painter whose whose subject matter is secondary to the color relationships and composition. In recent years, her studio work that has been sculptural paintings that focus on the ephemeral permanence of ocean waves. Also, well-known for her large scale mural work that is throughout the Bay Area. She has murals everywhere from the famed 924 Gilman in Berkeley to main highway throughways in Oakland to a mural atop the Salesforce Transit Center for the Global Climate Action Conference in San Francisco. Lindsey Millikan is available for commercial and public murals as well as private residences. Concurrently, she is seeking gallery representation for her most recent body of work while actively participating in select group shows.

"I always am negotiating impact versus payoff. The first achievement is for something to capture your attention. The challenge lies in arresting your gaze, compel you to come closer and lastly, be glad you did."

What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?

"In these unprecedented times, I would like my studio work to inspire contemplation and I would like my mural work to inspire conversation. Murals can foster unity, instill pride of place, and challenge viewers to think critically about the visual culture they are submerged in. Our visual landscape informs our mindset and our actions. Public art is essential to the common good."
