"Exploring the unseen connections that shape our lives through colour, texture and abstraction."
Lara Spadetto is an Italian contemporary artist based in the United Kingdom.
Her work explores memory, transformation and human connection through colour, texture and layered abstraction. Using painting as a space for reflection and inner exploration, she creates works that invite viewers to engage with their own emotional landscape while leaving room for personal interpretation.
Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, Lara develops her paintings through successive layers of colour and texture, allowing traces of previous gestures to remain visible beneath the surface. She frequently incorporates materials such as gesso, sand, wax and natural pigments, creating works that balance structure and intuition, presence and memory.
After studying Advertising Illustration in Milan, she built a professional career in visual communication before dedicating herself fully to her artistic practice. Having lived and worked in Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, her artistic vision has been shaped by a rich international experience and an ongoing interest in the universal aspects of human experience.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including exhibitions in Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea, and is held in private collections across Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Alongside original works, Lara develops bespoke commissions for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors, adapting scale, format and colour palette while preserving the conceptual identity of each series.
She currently lives and works in the United Kingdom, where she continues to develop a series-based practice guided by a poetic vision that weaves together fragility, awareness, light and inner resonance.
A subtle sensitivity to the invisible and the intimate lies at the heart of her work.
