Kasia Cymerman Art

Minneapolis, MN

"Connecting Threads of Life"
Kasia Cymerman is a fiber artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a practicing clinical psychologist and a self-taught weaver. Working on a vertical floor loom, she creates intuitive, unique pieces inspired by emotion, human experience, and nature. Her work blends a range of weaving techniques to evoke depth, complexity, and rich texture. Deeply rooted in psychoanalytic thinking, Cymerman is drawn to weaving for its resonance with the process of psychotherapy: interconnected fibers, tangled, messy, and knotted forming a complex whole. She sees the emergence of a tapestry, along with its necessary “clean up,” as a meditative reminder to slow down and embrace all aspects of being. Like psychotherapy, weaving requires patience, deep attunement, intimacy, and openness to the unknown. Her work has been exhibited in various contemporary art spaces, and she has collaborated with private collectors, art consultants, and interior designers.
