"„Mastercrafted sculptures and bespoke busts: One-of-a-kind artistry from the heart of the Bavarian Alps.“"
Heritage and Origin
Born in 1998, I live and work in Berchtesgaden—a region where the alpine landscape, craftsmanship, and living traditions have shaped daily life for generations. This environment forms the quiet yet defining backdrop of my artistic work. The immediate proximity to nature, ancient forests, and the local culture of woodcarving fostered an early awareness of material, form, and expression. In my work, this heritage is reflected not as a folkloric gesture, but as a deeply internalized stance: the understanding that every form emerges from a natural context and that every sculpture possesses its own inner presence.

Education and Artistic Path
My artistic journey began at the School of Woodcarving in Berchtesgaden, where I mastered the foundations of traditional wood sculpture. It was here that I developed a precise technical foundation, characterized by discipline, a deep knowledge of materials, and the training of three-dimensional vision. Building upon this, I furthered my education at the Master School for Wood Sculptors. In this phase, my interest shifted from the pure reproduction of traditional forms toward the exploration of individual expression, character, and physical presence within a space.

Creative Process and Form
At the center of my work is figurative sculpture—busts, animal depictions, masks, and free-form sculptural pieces. My forms emerge from an intense engagement with volume, tension, and internal movement. I frequently use clay as a preparatory medium to explore ideas before translating them into the permanent medium of wood. This process allows me to consciously navigate the boundary between spontaneous creation and precise execution.

The Dialogue with Wood
My personal connection to wood is of particular depth. For me, wood is not a neutral material but a living counterpart—a material that carries time within itself. The grain, density, resistance, and idiosyncrasies of each trunk essentially co-determine the creation process. The artistic act becomes a dialogue: the wood suggests directions, resists, or opens up possibilities. In this tension between control and surrender, the final form is born. My tool marks remain visible—broken surfaces and deliberate transitions allow the making-of process to remain an integral part of the artistic statement.

Studio Holzkunst Meisinger
By founding my studio, Holzkunst Meisinger, I have created an independent space where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design language converge. My works are characterized by a clear physical presence and a quiet intensity. They move between realistic recognizability and free interpretation, inviting the viewer to perceive the vibrant tension between material, form, and inner expression.
