Dan has been a carpenter for many years and previously worked inside people's homes on bespoke carpentry projects. When covid hit and lockdown began working inside houses was no longer possible so he decided to take a bold step and launch Cutting Edge Creations!
Sam previously worked in finance while gaining her law degree but joined the business in November 2022 to help deal with the growing order numbers!
The business has gone from strength to strength. Initially operating purely on Etsy and then branching out to other selling platforms. What once began in a garden shed now takes place in a workshop which quickly had to double in size to accommodate all of the orders our lovely customers placed.
We operate a small, family run, workshop in the countryside. We love what we do and with years of carpentry experience we feel like we are pretty good at it! All of our wooden pieces are handmade by us in our workshop to order.
We believe wood should not go to waste and that is why the majority of wood we use comes from our friends over at local saw mills who source trees which were felled during projects such as HS2 and which, without their intervention, would have been burned without being given a second chance to be something amazing. Instead, the wood is saved, sawn, dried (seasoned), and then we take it to our workshop and make it into something beautiful!
Our workshop in based just outside of Leighton Buzzard, where we continue to make all of our items by hand.
