Christopher Marley is an artist, designer, photographer and author who uses preserved natural specimens as his medium. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest, then spent over a decade working in dozens of countries in fashion advertising. During his extensive travels, Marley found that there were still enigmatic organisms and minerals to be discovered throughout the world. His passion for crisp design collided with serendipitous encounters with exquisite insects, minerals, fossils, botanicals and deep sea organisms, and the Christopher Marley lines were created. Marley collects his invertebrates in an environmentally sensitive manner using a worldwide network of people and institutions that share his passion for nature. All of his vertebrate specimens are reclaimed organisms that die of natural or incidental causes in captivity.
