"Chip it, crack it, smash it, melt it! Put it back together and give it whole new life…"CARLOS ALVES & JC StudiosCarlos Alves has been serious about art since he was a child and it shows in his passion for making things out of clay, glass, metal, salvaged artifacts, and recycled objects. Drawing from his Cuban roots and his Miami, Florida upbringing, Carlos’ themes encompass love, hope, history, culture, politics, nature, animals and a kinship with the sea.He graduated with an MFA from Illinois State- BFA at the University of Miami and a scholarship to Scuola Lorenzo Di Medici in Italy.Alves kick-started his post-college career with a free-flowing tile installation located on the floor and walls of the Art Center South Florida.
