As a long time resident of Madison WI, his heart is rooted in the upper midwest. The perspective that this region brings seeps into his works and mentality. This connection to the land has yielded an ethical approach to building art, giving priority to local and reclaimed materials. His training took place during a ten-year apprenticeship with artist Steven Spiro. He is committed to fusing art and design to help build better more livable public spaces. Much of his work is produced through commissions and is in collections nationally.
