This year, Jill Malek and Visual Magnetics launch “Forces”, a collection of wallcoverings for the workplace, striking an artful balance between elevated design, and high functionality. The collaboration features a stunning range of designs by Malek, inspired by the natural patterns created by the movements of magnetic properties and particles. Given a shared background in designing for collaborative work spaces, both Visual Magnetics and Jill Malek paid close attention to how scale and color would integrate into, and even create, a productive environment. The collection of wallcoverings will enhance the untapped potential of walls in workspaces. The collection features six unique patterns—“Draw”, “Ferro”, “Fields”, “Magneto”, Squared” and “Static”— with a total of 18 colorways. Patterns enhance a center strip of Visual Magnetics’ writable dry-erase surface, adding an elegant design element to a traditional work surface. Visual Magnetics’ walls are also outfitted with the company’s patented Invisilock technology—a powerful feature allowing 3D objects to be mounted using interlocking magnetic polarities—opening users to a range of options in adding office accessories to their wall’s surface. The partnership between designer and materials company, speaks to a shared goal of enhancing the spaces we use most.
