Atelier Tapis Rouge was inspired to develop the mountain-themed collection, and we are pleased to introduce the Himalaya Collection, a symphony of gorgeous hues and mountain-inspired motifs. Each rug is hand-woven by skilled craftsmen using the finest materials, resulting in unique pieces of art that are as durable as they are beautiful.
Since the Middle Ages, a real rug has been considered a great value. Hundreds of hours of hand work by the master, expensive materials, rare pigments. In the 21st century it is possible to rapidly replicate the objects, but in spite of this, the traditional rug knotting now rises to the level of contemporary art. While creating the patterns, European designers take into account the texture of the material, the properties of pile, the types of loops. Their design findings form a new language of modern trends.
