Porcelain wheel thrown and altered bowl with a foot that elegantly lifts and graciously offers its contents. The artist has included foraged wild iron into the porcelain clay body and surfaced it with a reactive cobalt matte glaze and a traditional shino lining. Each piece is unique in its color variations from algae greens, soft sky blues, to dramatic deep cobalt accented with textural iron markings that can be either speckles or areas of molten black. Often these pieces will display a smattering of golden speckles that are elusive, delicate surprises.

These beautiful pieces are high-fired to ^11 in a reduction kiln, are fully vitrified and food safe. Indicated sizing is approximate as each piece is one-of-a-kind with slight form and size variations. If ordering multiple pieces they will all be created and fired as a collection and curated by the artist especially for you.

Fine Porcelain from the Coast of Maine

Lisa B. Evans is a Ceramic Artist living and working on the coast of Brunswick, Maine
with her partner, Jeffrey, and two big dogs, Caly and Hildi. Ceramics
has been her primary artistic focus for the past 15+ years but truly began as a
child mesmerized by the demonstrating potters at the Starving Artist's
Shows in Fort Worth while her mother, a painter, tended her own showing.

Lisa's work has a truly unique quality and appearance that sets it apart
from other ceramics. The forms and surfaces are closely intertwined with
both her call and response’ style of throwing, inclusion of natural
materials and firing methods. Lisa works primarily in porcelain with foraged 'wild iron' added into the clay body. Surfaces are matte finished with reactive colorants such as cobalt and traditional Shino and celadon glazes. All her work is fired at her studio in a gas reduction kiln to cone 11. It is fully vitrified and food safe unless otherwise noted.
