Winter Sky is an encaustic painting created with wax and pigments on a cradled birch board.

The painting measures 24”x24”.
Framed in a brushed silver metal floater frame.

The depth and translucency of encaustic paint is what drew me to this medium and I find it perfect to convey the atmospheric scenes of my paintings. Winter Sky conveys the feeling of when everything is cold and silent.

With a studio based just west of Boston, Linda Cordner paints in the age old medium of encaustic. Pigments suspended in beeswax infuse the paintings with an inner life. The works convey the ethereal qualities of landscape, atmosphere and sea as fuzzy memories of a place, conveying the sense of it rather than a literal interpretation.
Linda has exhibited in galleries and museums around the country and has many works in private and corporate collections. Her work was included in the book Encaustic Art in the 21st Century, published by Schiffer Publishing.
