"Glacier" is a 2D Mixed Media, including acrylic, made on birch wood cradles and layered with resin epoxy.
Its dimensions are 48"x48"x1.5".
"Glacier" reminds me of the mouth of the St-Lawrence River in Québec, at the end of the Winter, when the ice starts to melt but the water is still frozen here and there. The snow and the ice are deeply white and the blues, are a mix of all the hues we can find in the sky. You see the smoke coming from the ice on a beautiful sunny day. Winter in Québec is magical!
The edges of my cradles stay raw and not treated to create a contrast and ambivalence between something very natural which is the wood and something very crafted which is the surface. The resin gives a shiny and glossy look and the entire composition gives the painting a modern, sleek and mysterious enchanting look.
