THE PROCESS
This artwork is made in Bellingham, Washington where each piece is meticulously designed from multiple layers of 4-ply museum board that is cut using pure high intensity light and then hand assembled and glued.
The process begins with an idea that is explored through sketches. Then it’s translated into generative computer code that allows the artist to play with thousands of possible variations until he finds the perfect balance of form and color.
The output from this generative code is then used to drive a high powered laser to cut layer after layer of material, slowly building up a dimensional sculpture.
These layers are then carefully aligned and glued together to form the final piece of artwork.
