Commissioning process
The process begins with an initial discussion to talk through ideas and get a feel for the project. At this stage, you are welcome to visit our workshop in Leyton, East London, or on occasion, a site visit may be appropriate.
Design phase
If your commission is for a bespoke version of a design that is already on my website, I would send you a fixed price plus shipping and if needed a scale drawing to show the proportions of the piece.
For a new design, I would provide sketches and sourced samples and also a design cost estimate for your approval followed by an invoice for the design phase.
Once this design is fully realised in drawings and a specification, I will supply a fixed price proposal for making the piece together with a delivery date.
Production, delivery & payment
On average making your piece normally takes from eight to ten weeks. If you are in London you are welcome to visit the workshop to see the furniture as it progresses. Before starting, I will ask for a payment of 50% of the making cost, with the balance, plus shipping and insurance becoming due on completion.
I will send you photographs of the finished piece for you to view before shipping, once you are completely happy and the final invoice has been paid I will arrange with the shippers for the collection and estimated delivery date.
To ensure safe transit, we either deliver and assemble the furniture ourselves or use a fully insured and crated curbside or optional white glove delivery and installation service.
Each piece of my furniture arrives with a :
- A invoice certificate of authenticity and description of the origin of the materials - Carved logo inscription, maker’s initials and consecutive making number - Care and maintenance instructions.
Please do get back to me if you need more information or anything is not clear.

In my practice, I question the confines of the domestic and practical demands of furniture and interpret the human longing for a deeper connection to traditional crafts, contemporary aesthetics and an engagement with natural materials, allied to a story made visceral through the maker’s time and hand.
While primarily focusing on the design’s functionality, I incorporate through the choice of natural materials a timeless feel that will, through use, be complemented with a patina of age.
Most importantly creating a balance between elegance and functionality, with a simplicity of line,
form and materials, making pieces that are easy to live with and give both visual and tactile pleasure.

"I like the elegant simplicity of a table to be found at the centre of the home. It is a pleasing thought that a large proportion of my commissions are for tables, the significance of which resonates with me as a symbol of meeting and coming together".
