DIGS004 | DAYA | SSLP - Wall Treatments

Starts at $950

Creation: 4-8 weeks

Designed to be installed in a Kitchen. This is my tongue ‘n’ cheek homage to wallpaper growing up 80’s. There was this trend for fruits in groups or jugs and butter dishes.

As a kid I remember wallpaper shopping with my parents. Mum was always on the lookout for a tricked-up repeats, so she wouldn’t sip her tea counting how many times she saw a bunch of grapes. I guess this is where my passion for wallpaper began.

Since starting Welcome to the Brightside I have produced numerous wallpaper commissions. I always give the client a clever and bold design. An artwork that unveils over time. The Digs Collection is no exception. This Kitchen print (as I call it) is a step repeat tile. Offered in 2 sizes on 4 papers textures.

As with all the wallpaper and murals from The Digs Collection each one is named after a famous song. DIGS004 takes on the spirit of Daya’s Sit Still Look Pretty. This wallpaper isn’t just a pretty picture of food. It’s about being a kick-arse female. I love the irony between the kitchen, where women were subjected to have only been the ruler of! But now instead of a bowl of grapes, we have emojis for naughty body parts. It’s a liberating piece of artwork that will bring many conversations over Pinot Noir with your take out dinner. This design is not for everybody, but if you’re a radical human, kicking butt in the world, you’ll get this piece. I am not a wallflower, my clients are fearless, so I’m hoping this commercial collection will inspire you to.
