Everlasting dead arrangement featuring sustainably foraged dried plants grown in Connecticut, and two 3D-printed cartoon flowers in chrome bioplastic. Comes wrapped in silkscreened paper plus, optionally, a note from sender. Add a matching Starchaser vase or Dark vase, for the perfect gift.

Wretched Flowers offers an alternative to the conventional cut flower industry, which sources 80% of its flowers from South America where they're grown with toxic chemicals, and shipped in refrigerated jets and trucks to the US. To avoid adding to this enormous carbon footprint, we forage plants as an act of conservation, targeting invasive species that threaten the native ecosystem, as well as native plants that have already reproduced. Our dead arrangements do not need to be refrigerated or shipped overnight, and will last virtually forever. Each arrangement celebrates the local ecosystem and acknowledges plants for what they are: bug food.

Hard objects for the unconventional home. All crafted in our Connecticut studio.

Wretched Flowers is the design studio of Loney Abrams and Johnny Stanish. Their ever-evolving practice currently involves designing objects for the home, interior and set design, art direction, and foraged floristry. Clients and collaborators include MoMA PS1, Rhizome, Gladstone Gallery, Anicka Yi, Clever / Architectural Digest, among many others.

Initiated in 2020 as a sustainable floristry studio, Wretched Flowers creates sculptural bouquets using foraged local plants. By consciously harvesting invasive versus native plants, Wretched Flowers facilitates ecological restoration on a small but meaningful scale.

The need for custom vases for their arrangements led them to make their own, which eventually inspired a collection of hand-built ceramic objects for the table top. Their second and most recent collection, ARTIFACT, expands their offering of home accessories to include lamps, a mirror, and a candleholder, in addition to vases. Wretched Flowers is currently pursuing opportunities related to interior design.

Abrams and Stanish, who are married, began collaborating in 2012 while receiving their MFAs from Pratt Institute. In 2012 they co-founded Hotel Art Pavilion, an experimental exhibition platform and gallery space. Abrams and Stanish currently teach at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
