Q&A

How does the design of your space (or an element of the design) impact the experiences people have there?

"A re-interpretation of the welcoming, cozy atmosphere of traditional Persian homes and the surprise of walking in to a place that does not have the typical aesthetic of an ethnic restaurant but offers authentic home-style Persian dishes."
Q&A

What is the interior design style of your space?

"The interior style of Sofreh is minimal with subtle allegorical touches that nod to classic Persian architecture juxtaposed with playful vintage Persian pop culture references.“relaxed, with a modern, cosmopolitan attitude.”The New York Times (“10 of the Best New N.Y.C. Restaurants” by Pete Wells)."
Q&A

What Custom/Original Element do your guests notice most often? What do they say about it?

"The mischievous and unexpected surprise in the bathrooms: all the walls are completely covered with vintage movie posters from pre-revolution Iran. This was not only a fun design element but a strategy geared to the social media age. As hoped, selfies taken in the bathrooms, then posted and hashtagged, have proliferated online and contributed substantially to online word-of-mouth in this most competitive of marketplaces."
