Q&A

How does the design of your space (or an element of the design) impact the experiences people have there?

"My husband Jonathan is a talented carpenter, and I’m so grateful to have his guidance and skills to help turn my design ideas into reality. When we have guests over they can often see Jonathan and I’s collaborative efforts to transform a space and also create many of our own pieces of furniture. Our home is a true reflection of both of us."
Q&A

What is the interior design style of your space?

"With each room we’ve constructed, family has always been at the forefront of our mind. We took down a wall to provide a more open concept from our living room to kitchen in order to spend more time together. I love being able to gather around our large kitchen island while other family members might visit next to it at the dining table. We’ve also turned our sunroom into a playroom; which happens to be beside our kitchen/living room area. So our home always feels like it’s bursting with energy,"
Q&A

What Custom/Original Element do your guests notice most often? What do they say about it?

"I have a few favourite pieces in our home that we built, but the one that means the most to me is probably our farmhouse dining table. I’ve dreamt of having one for so long, we built it when we were renovating our kitchen and awaiting the arrival of our daughter. I love how each knick and mark on it adds to the rustic characteristics of it, while at the same time imprinting a memory of our family using it. It’s like our own little time capsule."
