The Tree Tower is a sculptural work that evokes a solitary tower rising from the forest, a natural monument shaped by time and the quiet persistence of life.
Collected following forestry pruning in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, this fragment of bark caught my attention for its elongated silhouette, rugged edges and striking contrast between its reddish outer surface and the golden tones of its exposed inner wood.
Its vertical form recalls an ancient tower, a weathered ruin or the remains of a tree reaching towards the sky. The exposed grain creates a luminous path through the darker bark, suggesting a hidden core and the traces of a life that once flowed through the wood.
Preserved in its original form, the piece stands between natural sculpture and imagined architecture. The Tree Tower invites the viewer to contemplate the quiet strength of what remains, and the unexpected monumentality that can emerge from a single fragment of the forest.
Dimensions
* Artwork: 44 × 17.5 cm (H × W)
* With pedestal: 149 × 25 × 25 cm (H × W × D)
