Mitchell English is an Australian artist with a career spanning over thirty years – showing in Australia and overseas.
His work has been described as "surf art" and has an undeniably Australian, coastal aesthetic. Some of his latest work can be seen here.
His work is held in both public and private collections worldwide.And his art and his interiors have been featured in various international magazines and books.
His studies have included Fine Art at the College of Fine Arts (Sydney), and a Masters in Design from the University of Western Sydney – where he later lectured in Visual Arts.
As well as a painter, he is also a ceramicist and has exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), the Object Gallery (Sydney), Orson and Blake (Sydney), Koksela (Sydney), Spence & Lyda (Sydney), Husk (Melbourne), and Empire (Perth).
An experienced gallerist, Mitch also owned and ran Butchers Hook Art Gallery in Paddington, Sydney, for a number of years. Now based on the Sunshine Coast, he continues to show select artist's works.
