Jerry Misko is a native Las Vegan and has been a practicing artist here for the past 20 years. He attended the University of Southern California from 1990-93. Jerry has worked on projects with the City of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition television show, The Contemporary Arts Collective, First Friday and many other local arts organizations and galleries. He was co-founder of DUST Gallery, one of the most respected art galleries in Las Vegas, showcasing many artists from Las Vegas and abroad. Misko has participated in several art fairs in New York and Miami, including the Affordable Art Fair and SCOPE.
Misko’s work is iconic in the Vegas art scene. His work has been featured in The Aerial Gallery (which he has also curated for the City) and The Centennial Murals project (creating one of the largest murals from the series). Jerry has been commissioned to create works for several corporate collections in Las Vegas including Saks Fifth Avenue, The Howard Hughes Corporation, The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, Cirque du Soleil, The Molasky Group of Companies, Maccioni Restaurant Group and MTV. His work is also found in many local private collections as well as collections from around the country. Jerry has donated many works to fundraising events in the community including The Nevada Cancer Institute, The Neon Museum, The CAC, Bishop Gorman College Preparatory High School, Olive Crest, First Friday, St Jude’s Children Hospital and many others. Misko’s work has shown locally at the DUST gallery, the Contemporary Art Center and Henri & Odette gallery. In 2009 Jerry was selected as “best local artist” in both The Las Vegas CityLife & The Las Vegas Weekly, going to back to back in the CityLife for 2010. Also in 2009 Misko created large murals for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and The Las Vegas Neon Museum. Jerry has also completed a massive mural facing Fremont Street on the Emergency Arts building and his work was featured on Mtv’s Real World: Las Vegas filmed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Recently Misko was artist in residence at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas most recently created a large scale mural on Main St partnered with Cultivate Community. Misko recently showed new work with The Nevada Humanities Program Gallery. He currently lives and works in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
