I am a self taught artist with a long and intensive studio practice, all of my pieces are one of a kind, ranging from small charm kitchen goddesses to large 3D sculptures and public art. Also, I paint, draw and work with found objects. Usually, I start with a concept but my pieces tend to develop along plans of their own. They are like living organisms captured in a moment within their natural process of transformation. I am inspired by nature, outsider art and tribal cultures from around the world. Originally from Argentina, I am a long time resident of NYC and the Hudson Valley. My work has been shown extensively in the US as well as abroad and I have been awarded several public art commissions, among others, by NYC MTA's Arts & Design, NYC Percent for the Arts and the Public Art Fund, in addition to numerous grants and residencies. Currently I reside in Catskill NY where I co-own, with my wife Julie Chase, the Open Studio, a storefront gallery. For more info please visit www.dinabursztyn.com www.openstudiocatskill.com
