Bibby Art

Sausalito, CA

"As a recovering perfectionist I choose to work in mixed media using collage and acrylic because it’s forgiving. I love bold colors, geometric shapes and text which come alive with whimsy on wood panels and paper. I am happiest when I am drawing outside the lines on the canvas and in life."
I have always been creative and have applied my creativity to building businesses, professional cooking and art. I am a self-taught artist with a full-time focus on my art practice. When I am not in the studio painting, I consult for my former business, Parties That Cook which inspires connection through group cooking. I also contribute recipes bi-monthly to the San Jose Mercury News Food Section. I am an avid gardener and my garden, home and art are featured on Houzz and Houzz TV. I hold a Masters in Intuition Medicine from the Academy of Intuition Medicine and use these skills to create art that brings joy and life to homes, healthcare facilities and corporations such as hotels and restaurants.

Q&A

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?

"My mixed media art process involves layering paint with collage papers and then using water and a sander to distress the work which creates a rich texture and depth. Collage elements such as fabric, billboard posters, & found objects weave together to tell a story."
