Recalling Genesis and the creation of man from the dirt of the ground, I look to create art that is, in essence, raw and honest. I use classical Greek & Roman posing of my forms to preserve a sense of timelessness and I am currently exploring the figure of Venus by Alexandros of Antioch. My stylistic inspiration comes from the traditional Japanese technique of ink painting; black ink carefully curated onto white space. I work on un-primed canvas to preserve a textural and raw quality. I look to glorify the art of suggestion with negative space and an incomplete figurative form.
