Andrew Johnstone is the artist behind "The Man": an art piece displayed and burned annually at the famous Burning Man music and arts festival in Black Rock, Nevada. Since 2005, Johnstone has been the designer of The Man base and the project lead for Burning Man Earth. While Johnstone has made a huge impact on many artist communities through his work on The Man, he has more than one creative outlet. He specializes in large scale art projects, murals, 3D computer designs, and geo maps. Additionally, Johnstone does Trompe-l'œil, French for "deceive the eye", which is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the objects exist in three dimensions.
