Inspired by the unique patterns in modern architectural masonry, a striking overlay of vertical and horizontal lines that play with subtle changes in texture.
Incorporating a hand curated selection of wool & yarn including organic cotton, merino wool, Italian cotton, recycled sari chiffon ribbon and natural linen, each chosen to compliment and bring cohesion through both the use of colour and texture.
A contemporary mix of traditional weaving and fiber wrapping techniques that allow for a sculptured finish, a statement quite different from my previous work. I enjoy the challenge of pushing the boundaries of traditional weaving methods to develop new and exciting art works, each truly one of a kind.
Woven over a pine board and finished at the rear with backing felt and metal hanger, includes artist signature tag.
