This foxy fellow was made by me and then decorated by my wife, Lauren. I used my own stoneware blend of North Carolina clay to throw the pot. I then brushed on a thick porcelain slip, which Lauren decorated through.
This technique of carving through a slip is called sgraffito and has been used all over the world for thousands of years. Lauren showed an interest so I let her loose with some nocturnal creatures!
I really like her fox, and also the way the salt glaze has brought a kind of satin finish to the porcelain slip.
This was fired for three days in Lara O’Keefe’s kiln in Chatham County, North Carolina. Hoping to find a good home for her!

Also, it’s worth noting that all of my pots are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Any further questions about this pot or for anything else, please email me through the contact page. I also do commissions and orders for special occasions!
