This custom woven wall hanging was commissioned and now hangs in private residence. Measuring 60" x 36", this highly textural wall hanging features a wide variety of fibers including wool, cotton, recycled silk, and hemp. Textured wall art made in the medium of fiber is soft and welcoming, bringing visual and tactile interest in a welcoming and familiar way. These handwoven tapestries are unique in their 3 dimensional textures, becoming wall sculptures woven in cotton and wool.

While my aim in the recreation of a piece is to follow the original design as closely as possible, I also allow for the subtle nuances and one-of-a-kind qualities that arise from the intuitive nature of weaving.

Transforming meaning and memory into texture and color.

Using raw materials such as wool and cotton, I make sculptural wall hangings, woven together by hand. Located in the beautiful state of Utah, my work often reflects abstract landscapes, inspired by the textures and colors of the earth, water, and sky.

My work has so much more to do with creating something aesthetic for people’s homes: it’s about evoking emotions that connect us more deeply to ourselves, to each other, and to that deeper something that holds the essence and meaning of existence. My work is meant to connect and expand people in a way that brings meaning, purpose, and joy to the viewer. My intention as an artist is to create both a visual, tactile, and emotional experience for the viewer by intricately weaving meaning and memory into texture and color.

Even the rawest materials such as raffia or wool can be meticulously and gently twisted and formed with compassion into something stunningly beautiful as a whole. My work is deeply influenced by a desire to inspire others to be fiercely authentic, vulnerable, and most of all, human, while we all learn to accept, love, and celebrate who we are.
