Part of the mindfulness-inspired "Constructs of the Mind" Collection, this piece was inspired by a venture into meditation. The example given by Dan Harris and Joseph Goldstein in the app "Ten Percent Happier" likens our steady stream of thoughts to the flow of a waterfall. The goal of meditation is to be the observer of our thoughts - as if we were standing behind the waterfall, witnessing it. This visual spoke to me and was one that helped me to consciously distance myself from my thoughts in and outside of mediation.
Diptych, each panel 24" x 48", extending to 53"H. Ink, acrylic, Illustration board, hand spun yarn. Edges in lilac.
