Public Sculptures by Peter Hessemer seen at Lake Forest Library, Lake Forest - Untitled

This ceramic sculpture, created by local artist Peter Hessemer, is a gift from family and friends in memory of Alfred Medica, a frequent visitor to the Lake Forest Library and avid reader of history. The 40-inch black abstract sculpture is located near the library's front entrance. The work of art was installed in July 2007 and dedicated the following November.

Hessemer, a Lake Forest resident and professor of art at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, is an award-winning sculptor and ceramicist. The outdoor piece crafted for the Medica family was the first sculpture Hessemer designed for a public space.
