Secondhand Geology

Crushed Stainless Steel
20.5' x 2' x 2'
We produced building blocks using an unprecedented process: working with crushed stainless steel. Depending on viewing angle, they resemble an ad hoc stack or obelisk. Each block’s texture contributes to the geology metaphor, reminding viewers of the processes at work in nearby rock formations.
