Celebrating the 100 years of suffrage, Art Under the Flyover commissioned me to design a mural celebrating local women. Using the idea of nesting dolls, the forms were simplified and arranged in historical order on the side of the ramp leading into Hotwells. Lettering by Claire Wan of Inky Claw.

Multidisciplinary artist, specialising in printmaking, mark-making and murals. Loves colour, drawing and biscuits.

Amy Hutchings is a multi-disciplinary printmaker, community muralist and creative facilitator, based in Bristol, UK. She works for both commercial and private commissions as well as drawing for print. She creates her own limited-edition artwork, pushing the boundaries of process via experimentation with hand produced methods. She thoroughly enjoys collaborations with industry and individuals.
With over 25 years of experience. she begged to learn how to print aged 12 and was taught in her school lunch hours. Now based at Spike Print Studio, she plays with colour, line and print techniques. hand drawing and hand-printing everything she produces – for her, it’s all about the physical connection to process.
Amy has a long history of creating public and private murals, with regeneration projects and industry commissions undertaken. She is community-focussed and loves working with groups to provide a vehicle for expression and a visual voice.
In 2019 she was artist in residence with Creative Workspace, artist in residence with Artspace Lifespace and benefitted from a professional scholarship via Spike Print Studio and UWE during 2017-18. Her clients include Bristol Eye Hospital, NEXA, Artspace Lifespace, Historic England, H&CCA and Bristol 24/7, where she was artist of the month in November 2018.
